    Coherent electronic transport through a superconducting film

    We study coherent quantum transport through a superconducting film connected to normal-metal electrodes. Simple expressions for the differential conductance and the local density of states are obtained in the clean limit and for transparent interfaces. Quasiparticle interference causes periodic vanishing of the Andreev reflection at the energies of geometrical resonances, subgap transport, and gapless superconductivity near the interfaces. Application of the results to spectroscopic measurements of the superconducting gap and the Fermi velocity is analyzed.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure

    Minerageny and potentiality of carbonate raw materials of mining area of Bjelopavlići (Montenegro)

    Karbonatne sirovine, obzirom na geološku građu Crne Gore predstavljaju jednu od najznačajnijih nemetaličnih mineralnih sirovina. U Crnoj Gori postoje brojna leţišta karbonatnih sirovina (arhitektonsko - građevinskog i tehničko - građevinskog kamena) koja su istraţena ili su u eksploataciji, među kojima rudni reon Bjelopavlića zauzima najznačajnije mjesto. Dosadašnja istraţivanja karbonatnih sirovina na ovom području imala su, međutim, prevashodno uzak istraţivački cilj, utvrđivanje rezervi arhitektonsko - građevinskog i tehničko - građevinskog kamena određenog leţišta, ili preliminarna ispitivanja kvaliteta krečnjaka u njima, sa aspekta primjene u industriji i građevinarstvu, dok su istraţivanja regionalnog karaktera bila malog obima i vezana za delove pojedinih basena, bez međusobne korelacije. U doktorskoj disertaciji proučeno je i prikazano sledeće: mineragenetske karakteristike gornjokrednih krečnjaka i izdvojenih geoloških formacija rudnog reona Bjelopavlića, geološke karateristika leţišta i pojava karbonatnih sirovina, rudonosne, rudne formacije i formacioni tipovi karbonatnih sirovina, vrsta karbonatnih sirovina i njihova leţišta, rezerve i kvalitativne karakteristike, mogućnost primjene i potencijalnost sa koncepcijom daljih istraţivanja. Posebna paţnja je posvećena rezultatima ispitivanja krečnjaka i mogućnošću njihove primjene kao karbonatnog punila u raznim granama industrije. U okviru rudnog reona Bjelopavlića otkriveno je više leţišta karbonatnih sirovina, u kojima se prevashodno proizvodi arhitektonsko - građevinski kamen, manje tehničko -građevinski kamen, a samo na jednom leţištu se vrši proizvodnja karbonatnih punila. Ukupne dokazane bilansne rezerve leţišta arhitektonsko - građevinskog kamena A, B i C1 kategorije u okviru rudnog reona Bjelopavlića iznose 9,5 miliona m3, dok su rezerve tehničko - građevinskog kamena praktično neprocjenjive...The carbonate raw materials, due to the geological structure of Montenegro are one of the most important non-metallic minerals. Moreover, there are numerous deposits of carbonate materials (architectural - building and technical - construction stone) that are explored or are in exploitation phase, including mining area of Bjelopavlici that occupies the most important place. Previous studies of carbonate raw materials in the area had, however, primarily a narrow research objective, establishing reserves of architectural-construction and technical-building stone of specific deposit, or preliminary studies of the quality of the limestone in them, from the point of application in industry and construction, while the regional research were the small - scale and related to specific parts of the basin, with no mutual correlation. This doctoral dissertation examined and shown the following: mineragenetics characteristics of Upper Cretaceous limestone and isolated geological formations of mining region Bjelopavlici, geological characteristics of deposits and occurrences of carbonate raw materials, metalliferous, ore formation and formational types of carbonate raw materials, type of carbonate raw materials and their deposits, reserve and qualitative characteristics, application possibilities and potential of the concept for further research. Special attention is devoted to the results of tests of limestone and the possibility of their application as carbonate fillers in various industries. Within the mining region Bjelopavlici are discovered more deposits of carbonate raw materials, where primarily architectural - building stone is produced, less technical and construction stone, and only on one deposit, there is production of carbonate fillers. Total proven balance reserves of deposits of architectural and building stone A, B and C1 categories within mining region Bjelopavlici amount to 9.5 million m3, while the reserves of technical construction stone are practically priceless..

    Multiple Roles of the RUNX Gene Family in Hepatocellular Carcinoma and Their Potential Clinical Implications

    : Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most frequent cancers in humans, characterised by a high resistance to conventional chemotherapy, late diagnosis, and a high mortality rate. It is necessary to elucidate the molecular mechanisms involved in hepatocarcinogenesis to improve diagnosis and treatment outcomes. The Runt-related (RUNX) family of transcription factors (RUNX1, RUNX2, and RUNX3) participates in cardinal biological processes and plays paramount roles in the pathogenesis of numerous human malignancies. Their role is often controversial as they can act as oncogenes or tumour suppressors and depends on cellular context. Evidence shows that deregulated RUNX genes may be involved in hepatocarcinogenesis from the earliest to the latest stages. In this review, we summarise the topical evidence on the roles of RUNX gene family members in HCC. We discuss their possible application as non-invasive molecular markers for early diagnosis, prognosis, and development of novel treatment strategies in HCC patients

    The prognostic role of androgen receptor in patients with early stage breast cancer: a meta-analysis of clinical and gene expression data

    Androgeni receptor je u visokom procentu zastupljen u tkivu karcinoma dojke, gde se može naći i do 70%, ali je njegov značaj do sada nedovoljno ispitivan. Cilj: Želeli smo da ispitamo prognostičku ulogu androgenog receptora u ranom karcinomu dojke (KD). Metrijal i metode: Prognostičku ulogu androgenog receptora (AR) ispitali smo kroz metaanalizu publikovanih kliničkih studija koje su ispitivale uticaj ekspresije AR na preživljavanje bez bolesti (eng. disease free survival-DFS), kao i ukupno preživljavanje (eng. overall survival-OS) kod pacijentkinja sa ranim karcinomom dojke. Koristeći ključne reči na engleskom jeziku "karcinom dojke" i "androgen receptor" pretražili smo dostupne elektronske baze podataka (PubMed, Google school i Cohrane review) kako bismo identifikovali studije koje su odgovarale unapred zadatim kriterijumima. Kvalitativnu procenu studija koje su selektovane za kliničku meta-analizu vršili smo pomoću REMARK kriterijuma. U skopu meta-analize izračunali smo kombinovani indeks rizika (eng.hazard ratio-HR) sa 95% intervalom poverenja (eng. confidence interval-CI) koristeći AR negativne pacijentkinje kao referentnu vrednost. Drugi deo mata-analize se odnosi na podatke dobijene ekpresijom gena (eng. gene-expression) dostupnih kroz setove podataka mikroareja (eng. microarray) pacijentkinja sa KD i poznatim ishodom bolesti. Koristeći PAM50 molekularni klasifikator (eng. molecular classifier) odredili smo molekularne podtipove KD. Ispitivali smo korelaciju AR iRNK sa kliničko-patološkim varijablama, drugim individualnim genima i genskim zapisima (eng. gene signatures) i kliničkim ishodom...Androgen receptor (AR) expression has been observed in about 70% of breast cancer (BC) patients, but its prognostic role is not yet established. Aim: To evaluate prognostic role of androgen receptor in patients with early breast cancer. Methods: To assess the prognostic role of AR in breast cancer we performed a metaanalysis of studies that evaluated the impact of AR on disease free survival (DFS) and/or overall survival (OS) in patients with early stage BC. Eligible studies were identified by systematic review of electronic databases using the MeSH terms "breast neoplasm" and "androgen receptor". Evaluable studies were selected after a qualitative assessment based on the REMARK criteria. We report combined Hazard Ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) using AR negative patients as a reference. In addition, we conducted an in-silico pooled analysis of publicly available microarray data sets, from patients with early stage BC with known gene expression profiling and clinical outcome. By using PAM50 molecular classifier we assigned patients to molecular subtypes. We explored correlations of AR mRNA levels with clinico-pathological variables, other individual genes and gene signatures and clinical outcome. Results: 22 out of 33 eligible studies for the clinical meta-analysis, including 10.004 patients, were considered as evaluable for the current study after the qualitative assessment..

    In this talk we discuss the CP violation in the Higgs sector under assumption that Higgs is a mixture of CP even and odd states. Study is done in ZZ-fusion, at the intermediate energy stage of CLIC, in full simulation of a detector and machine and physics related backgrounds.     Measurement of the σ x BR(H→ZZ*) at 350 GeV and 3 TeV center-of-mass energies CLIC

    In this paper we present results of the determination of the statistical precision of the branching fraction measurement, for Higgs decaying to ∗ pairs at 3 TeV and 350 GeV CLIC. Measurements are simulated with the CLIC_ILD detector model, taking into consideration all relevant physics and beam-induced background processes. It is shown that the product of the branching fraction ( → ∗ ) and the Higgs production cross-section can be measured with a relative statistical uncertainty of 3% (20%) at 3 TeV (350 GeV) center-of-mass energy, using semileptonic final states and assuming an integrated luminosity of 5 (1) ab−1 .BPU11 : 11th International Conference of the Balkan Physical Union : Proceedings book; Aug 11 - Sep 1, 2022S05-HEP High Energy Physics (Particles and Fields

    Kontrola rezultata testa integriteta šipova-karakteristični primeri iz prakse

    У раду је приказана метода испитивања интегритета шипова Sonic Integrity Test (SIT) којом се утврђује да ли геометрија шипа задовољава пројектне захтеве у погледу усвојеног пречника и дужине шипа. Издвојени су карактеристични примери шипова из праксе код којих су рефлектограми добијени тестом интегритета указали на могуће неправилности у грађи шипова. Како је тест интегритета шипа недеструктивна метода, тумачење рефлектограма може да има одређени ниво непоузданости. Накнадно су спроведене деструктивне методе бушења кроз тело шипа или је спроведен тест оптерећења за утврђивање носивости шипа како би се потврдила инжењерска процена интегритета шипа
